How To Avoid Winter Ruts!

This is the time of the year when most of people just don’t have the drive to work out during these winter months, opting for eggnog, holiday parties, and netflix marathons instead.

Here are some tips to keep motivated during this winter season so you can continue to make some solid progress, despite whatever mother nature throws our way.

  1. Embrace The Cold

Get out there and face it like a warrior. Bundling up, and facing the elements will be invigorating, refreshing, and will provide a great change of pace from cooping yourself up inside all the time.  The more active I am, the more energized I am; the more lazy I am , the more tired I am.

2. Get Some New Gear

Tired of last year’s old sweats?  If your budget allows, get yourself with some new winter workout threads. The monetary investment should motivate you to make your purchases worthwhile, while also looking and feeling good doing so.

3. Workout At Home

Sometimes even getting the motivation to get ready and go somewhere else to work out can be a hard task, so make it easier to exercise by doing it in the confines of your living room.  You can even modify your workout to include body weight exercises such as planks, crunches, push-ups, and burpees to get the muscles pumped and blood flowing.

4.  Remember The Why

Remind yourself why we are doing this. We’ve invested most of the year into getting into shape, why ruin it now?  Strike while the iron’s hot without skipping a beat.  Let’s finish the season STRONG!

Happy Holidays!
